What we do with your personal information when you contact us, in plain English.
Last updated: 16 October 2026
Who we are
This website is run by Mista Bit Painting and Decorating LTD ("Mista Bit", "we", "us"), registered in England and Wales under company number 16787958. We are a painting, decorating and wallpapering business working in Liverpool and surrounding areas. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.
Our address is 76 Clavell Road, Liverpool, England, L19 4TS.
To ask anything about your information, email mistabitpaintersanddecorators@gmail.com or call 07337 388020.
What information we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us when you get in touch about work:
- your name and contact details (email address, phone number or WhatsApp number);
- your town or postcode, and the address of the property if we quote for or carry out work;
- details of the project, including any photos or messages you send us;
- records of our conversations, quotes, agreed work and payments if you become a customer.
We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health details). Please do not include any in your messages unless it is needed, for example access needs at your property.
How you can contact us
You can reach us by phone, WhatsApp, email or Facebook. Any information you send that way comes to us directly through those services.
The enquiry form on our contact page is not yet connected. At the moment it does not send, store or share anything you type, so please contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email instead. When the form is switched on, it will ask for your name, email address, town or postcode, service and project details, plus an optional phone number, and we will update this policy to describe how it works.
Why we use your information
We use your information to:
- reply to your enquiry and discuss your project;
- arrange visits, give quotes and carry out and invoice for work;
- keep records we need for accounts, tax and insurance, and to deal with any problem with work we have done.
We do not use your details for marketing, we do not sell them, and we do not use them for automated decision-making.
Our lawful bases
Under UK data protection law we need a lawful basis for using your information:
- Taking steps before a contract, and performing a contract, when we answer your enquiry, quote for work and carry it out at your request.
- Legitimate interests, when we keep a record of enquiries and conversations, and deal with queries or complaints. We think this is a fair and expected use of your details, and it has little impact on your privacy.
- Legal obligation, when we keep financial and tax records the law requires.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We use a small number of service providers who handle it for us or provide the channels you use to contact us:
- Email: Google (Gmail) handles email sent to and from our email address.
- Messaging and social media: WhatsApp and Facebook (Meta) handle messages you send us through them. They have their own privacy policies, which apply to your use of those services.
- Website hosting: this site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address when you visit.
- Professional advisers: for example our accountant or insurer, if needed for our business records or a claim.
We may also share information where the law requires it. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. When they do, they must use appropriate safeguards, such as the UK's approved transfer mechanisms.
Cookies and tracking
At the time of writing this website does not set cookies, run analytics or advertising tools, or embed third-party content such as maps or videos. Fonts are served from this site. Links to Facebook and WhatsApp take you to those services, which may use their own cookies. If we add cookies or analytics in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the reasons above. Enquiries that do not lead to work are not kept longer than necessary. Records of work, invoices and payments are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires and for as long as we may reasonably need them to deal with any problem with the work. After that we delete or anonymise them.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, in some circumstances;
- ask us to restrict how we use it, in some circumstances;
- object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests;
- ask for information you gave us to be provided in a portable format, where this applies.
To use any of these rights, email mistabitpaintersanddecorators@gmail.com. We may need to check who you are first, and we aim to reply within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint (opens in a new tab) or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
